However, it was not until recently through the formation of the 7th Syndicate that he has committed the level of training and preparation needed to become a quality woodsball/scenario player. With a high level of respect and regard for the US armed forces, Monk strives for the very best in his personal contribution to the team’s objectives.

“My primary objective is to be where the team needs me, when it needs me, accomplishing what it needs most. The combination of mental and physical discipline it takes to play well is the most appealing aspect of the sport.”

"I try to always be moving during the game.  Never being where the enemy expects me to be is a huge advantage."

Bio:
Daniel “Mesh” Nice started playing paintball at 11 years old.  After taking a couple of years off, he has returned to the paintball field with a renewed passion for the game.

“I’m pretty quick, and I like to run into the action.  I love infiltrating into enemy territory to try to get position on the opposition’s gunners.  I like playing a versatile position where my commander can call on me for whatever needs to be done.”

SCORGE: [Event Administrator and Team Relations]

Main Position: Sniper
Weapon:
     Tippmann - A5
     32" Coiled Remote
     20oz CO2 Tank

Bio:
Rich "Scorge" Scholes played paintball intensely in the late '80s and early '90s, before going into early retirement to pursue academic interests, corporate intrigue, and cycling.  Emerging from his extended hiatus at the special invitation of the 7th Syndicate leadership, Scorge continues to faithfully don his 15 year old camos.

"I just really like paintball.  With its intricate strategy, rigorous intensity and honed tactics -- paintball's combination of individual contribution and coordinated team play make it the most underrated and overly exhilarating sport out there."
CAT [Master at Arms]:

Main Position: Light/Medium Rifleman
Weapon:
     Tippmann A5 - With E-Trigger
     J&J 14in Ceramic Barrel

Bio:
Eric "Cat" Watkins Has been playing paintball for a long time.  He developed his game in the 80's using 10 shot pistols, and his ability to maneuver and execute tactical commands is extremely effective thanks to that training.

"I don't like focusing on kills vs. death ratios. 'How can I best contribute to the team objectives' is a better mindset, in my view. When I'm moving around on the field, I try to keep asking myself, 'How can I build advantage here,' then I attempt to move and execute. Effective communication is very important to that end."

Timothy "Irish" Taft has been playing paintball for 4 years.  He is the youngest member of 7th Syndicate, but what he lacks in age he makes up for in stealth and cunning.

"It is intimidating playing with a bunch of guys way older than me, but I try my best to deserve my spot on the team. I just hope that when I am called upon, I can be there for the my teammates."

Bio:
Matt "Rover" Traylor recently returned to the sport of paintball after many years of absence.  He has found his niche with 7th Syndicate as a Medium and Heavy Gunner.

"I like playing Heavy Gunner because I like to know I am holding down the center for the team.  It also doesn't hurt that I don't have to run as much that way."
SERAPH [Alumni]:

Due to landing his dream job with Lucas Arts studios in San Francisco, Seraph has moved to sunny California.  He and his wife now live in beautiful San Francisco, where Seraph will be making the video gaming world a better place with his computer animation skills.  Though he may be far away, Seraph will still retain his membership with 7th Syndicate, and we look forward to reunion tours in the future.  Maybe at some point we can arrange a team field trip to San Francisco!

While we are going to miss Seraph’s gun on the battlefield, we will miss his camaraderie even more!  Good luck, Seraph!
